Between 4th and 7th March 2019 the Annual Student Energy Congress took place in Zagreb, Croatia. Our Petroleum Geoengineering student, Muhammad Nur Ali Akbar arrived back to Miskolc with two victories and two prizes from the prestigious event.

At the Annual Student Energy Congress the best students and young professionals from various European technical universities gathered to discuss the most important problems in the field of oil and gas industry and to present the latest developments and innovations in these spheres.

The four-day-long congress programme consisted of lectures, speeches and discussions - for instance The Future of the Oil and Gas Industry in Low-Carbon Energy - with the participation of the students and many distinguished speakers and key personalities from the oil and gas industry and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. The participants were given an exciting insight towards the current changes in the energy sector and they were also encouraged to prepare questions and share their own thoughs.

Muhammad Nur Ali Akbar represented the University of Miskolc at the ASEC and he managed to achieve an amazing success. He won the first place in the PetroTournament, where he could show his excellent technical knowledge in Petroleum Engineering and furthermore he also won the third place at the Paper and Poster Contest with his own poster [downloadable here] presenting the effects of internal pore structure on compressional sonic velocity in sandstone and carbonate rocks.

Congratulations!
