Let’s go out in Miskolc

Here you are, exploring the campus of the university in the first days of your experience as a citizen of Miskolc. You probably haven’t heard about this city before but your enthusiasm of starting something new cushions the fear of unknown. You’ve already been through the “Welcome to E6” step and you’ve probably made some friends by now who were nice enough to show you around. And yes, the campus is so cool that it has all a student needs. Most likely, you’ve already discovered the canteens, the clubs, the sports zone, the other hostels, the markets around and the reinvigorating park that must have been the first place you’ve noticed in the campus. Now it’s time to take you out in the city center, where you can find an array of interesting places waiting to be discovered, whether you want to have a drink, something to eat, or just enjoy a walk.

The Hungarian Government announced the policy of Global Opening as part of which the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme was launched in 2013 for foreign students. The Programme is based on intergovernmental contracts on educational affairs signed between the Hungarian government and the partner countries. The aim of the programme is to promote cultural understanding, economic and political relations between Hungary and other countries.

Grant proposals are to be submitted in the sending countries by applicants for pre-selection. Following an evaluation process applications are forwarded to the TEMPUS PUBLIC FOUNDATION, which is the Hungarian coordination unit of the Programme.

Increasing number of SH sending countries

On the below two pictures, it can clearly be seen, that the number of participant countries is growing year by year. This means, that Hungarian higher education institutions have the opportunity to welcome Stipendium Hungaricum students from a wider scale of countries every year.

To see the difference only 1 academic year can make, we created two maps.

The first one shows the sending countries of our students before 2017:

The second map shows these countries after 2017:
