Study in Hungary - Interviews with International Students (video)

 

The Hungarian Government announced the policy of Global Opening as part of which the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme was launched in 2013 for foreign students. The Programme is based on intergovernmental contracts on educational affairs signed between the Hungarian government and the partner countries. The aim of the programme is to promote cultural understanding, economic and political relations between Hungary and other countries. 

Grant proposals are to be submitted in the sending countries by applicants for pre-selection. Following an evaluation process applications are forwarded to the TEMPUS PUBLIC FOUNDATION, which is the Hungarian coordination unit of the Programme. 

Applicants with a scholarship pursuing their full BA/BSc, MA/MSc or undivided MA or PhD studies receive the following provisions:

- BA/BSc, MA/MSc students receive HUF 40 460 (cca 130 EUR) per month

- PhD students who started their studies prior to September 2016 are entitled to 100 000 HUF (cca 325 EUR) scholarship per month

- PhD students who started their studies in September 2016 are entitled to HUF 140 000 (cca EUR 435) scholarship per month

- PhD students starting their studies from September 2017 onwards are entitled HUF 140 000 (cca EUR 450) scholarship for the first phase of education (4 semesters) and HUF 180 000 (cca EUR 580) scholarship for the second phase (4 semesters)

The travel costs have to be covered by the applicants.
